My main focus in life right now : herbal remedies🌱 | alchemy 🧪| birth work 🤰🏽

These are all so very connected. Energetics. Elements. Herbs. Systems of the body. I dig it all. This is where my studies have led me and I am excited to embark on my next journey... I am on my way to becoming a trained doula! I’ve been considering this for a little while + I feel like now is time to make this happen. The connection between the human body + the earth is so fascinating to me, especially the gift of motherhood - the life giving female body should always be protected + cherished. 

You may have noticed recently because covid has helped bring BIPOC stories + experiences to the forefront of the news.. But there are far too many women of color who’s stories are never told. These women enter hospitals with uncomplicated pregnancies, only to leave traumatized after being given unnecessary (and at times unwanted) treatments, drugs + c-sections. Many times these stories conclude far worse, showcasing the loss of BIPOC lives due to doctor negligence + complete disregard for women of color. These so called practitioners don’t value the human lives in front of them when they are of color, they do not honor the Hippocratic oath as they swore to. To me, this is an outright war on BIPOC women, targeting their bodies and their babies.

Every now + then we hear a story in the news about this, but overall, there are so many lives lost + bodies cut when they shouldn’t be. There is a war on the BIPOC body. For many of our men, we know the police state is one of, if not the largest threat to their livelihood. But for women, it is the police state + hospitals that are the greatest cause of death + they do so unregulated, unquestioned + under the guise of CARE!! 

I may only be at the beginning of my doula journey, so I am obviously new to this field, but while I live and breathe on this planet, I swear I will do what I can for whom I can + learn all I can to help everyone I can.

The absolute neglect + blatant disregard for BIPOC lives truly hurts me to my heart, which is why I am most interested in this path. I just hope I can save a life or help someone, anyone as the years progress 🙏🏽✨🌹
